The Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (MPIM) and the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (B-IT) will host a joint workshop on Number Theory and Cryptography on November 20 and 21, 2013.
The purpose of this two-day workshop is to bring together (analytic) number theorists and cryptographers. A good part of public-key cryptography makes use of number-theoretic concepts and algorithms. This, in turn, has led to new challenges in number theory. Some of these connections are among the topics to be discussed in the workshop.
