Stable homotopy invariants for links

I will discuss work towards developing a new flavour of invariant for knots and links, which takes the form of a CW complex, considered up to stable homotopy. Invariants of this type are designed so that the (cellular) cohomology should agree with existing knot homology theories, such as Khovanov homology. The tools which go into the construction are a combination of techniques from high- and low-dimensional topology together with ideas from classical homotopy theory. No knowledge of Khovanov homology will be assumed.
