Moments of symmetric square L-functions on GL(3)

In joint work with Valentin Blomer we gave an asymptotic formula for the first moment of the symmetric square L-function on GL(3) in the level aspect. I will give some background on the symmetric square L-function on GL(3), followed by an overview of the method, which combine an approximate functional equation, the Kuznetsov formula for GL(3), and some ingredients of representation theory allowing to determine the sign of the functional equation in terms of the Fourier coefficients.
