The "Eleventh Arbeitstagung of the Second Series" is dedicated to the memory of Friedrich Hirzebruch who started the Arbeitstagung in 1957. The talks will be published in a proceedings volume. The traditional boat trip on the Rhine will be on Sunday, May 26, the reception by the Rektor in the Festsaal of the University will be on Monday, May 27.

Gopal Prasad and A. S. Rapinchuk defined a notion of weakly
commensurable lattices in a semisimple group, and gave a
classification of weakly commensurable Zariski dense subgroups. A
motivation was to classify pairs of locally symmetric spaces
isospectral with respect to the Laplacian on functions. For this, in
higher ranks, they assume the validity of Schanuel's conjecture.

I will report on an ongoing project aiming at uncovering fundamental
features of N=(2,2) supersymmetric quantum mechanics on moduli spaces
of vortices on compact Riemann surfaces, in analogy with the spectrum
of quantum dyon-monopole bound states that emerged in connection with
Sen's S-duality conjectures in the 1990s. My focus in this talk will
be on the geometry underlying the coupling of waveforms to local
systems in effective theories for supersymmetric two-dimensional sigma-models
with toric gauge symmetry. I will consider models with

Geometric filtrations of string links and homology cylinders

We analyze several filtrations on the groups of concordance classes of string links and homology
cylinders modulo homology bordism. In particular we compare the twisted Whitney tower
filtration of string links to the Johnson filtration of string links, showing that the associated
graded groups differ by finitely generated 2-torsion groups, corresponding to higher-order
Arf invariants. We also continue Jerry Levine's analysis of the Johnson filtration of homology
