Looking for accommodation through the MPIM

The MPIM provides help for all visiting scientists at the Institute in their search for accommodation in Bonn. We can provide apartments of different sizes, level of furnishing and price from a pool of properties offered by private landlords principally for people visiting the MPIM and other research facilities.

If you would like our help in finding somewhere to live, please complete our accomodation application form [3], then sign it and fax (+ 49 228 402 275) or e-mail (housing$@$mpim-bonn$.$mpg$.$de) it back to us. You will then receive further information on finding accommodation through the MPI.

The following estate agents currently offer furnished accommodation in the Bonn area. Please read the general terms and conditions. If they successfully arrange rental of accommodation, estate agents charge a commission, which is a percentage based on the rental charge and rental period.

Guest houses in Bonn

The international guest houses in Bonn are always very popular, so you should start making enquiries as soon as possible. The main advantage of these is that they offer the option of also renting apartments on a daily basis, i.e. also just for short stays and for visits of less than a month.

The Studentenwerk [29] (Student Administration) offers apartments in the international guest houses at Im Steinweg [30] (Bonn Endenich) and Schumannstraße [31] (next to the main station). Because of their reservation procedure, offers can be made a maximum of one month in advance. This means that it is not possible to make a definite arrangement on the availability of an apartment any further in advance.

Most of the apartments at the University Club Bonn are booked up well in advance. Here again, it is possible to rent apartments on a daily basis. For 8 - 30 overnight stays, the University Club offers prices on a sliding scale. For a stay of 14 days or more, a one-off final cleaning charge is made.
