Pro-finite dimensional manifolds and the formal solution space of PDE's

We provide a definition of profinite dimensional manifolds and show that formally integrable PDE's give rise to interesting examples of such. We also explain that the usual scalar field theories from classical field theories provide examples of formally integrable PDE's. This is on joint work with Batu Gueneysu from HU, Berlin.
