Cyclotomic polynomials are a family of irreducible polynomials with integer coefficients whose roots lie on the unit circle. They have been studied since at least the time of Gauss. They are also a longtime favourite object of study of Pieter Moree. In honour of Pieter’s 60th birthday, we will take a (figurative) bicycle ride through the landscape of cyclotomic polynomials, examining some interesting properties of their coefficients and degrees.
