Unlike fake projective planes, fake quadrics are still not classified. We will
discuss fake quadrics arising from groups acting on buildings.
(Joint work with Jakob Stix)
We will also outline the construction of an infinite family of mixed Beauville
surfaces, using groups acting on buildings.
(Joint work with Nigel Boston, Nathan Barker and Norbert Peyerimhoff).
