Khovanov homology is a homological invariant of knots that categorifies the Jones polynomial. Since its discovery, it has spurred many advances in low-dimensional topology and connected field. In this talk, we will give a survey on recent devlopements in Khovanov-like theories, with an emphasis on a certain variant, called odd Khovanov homology. This includes tangle theories, extension to homotopy type, and spectral sequences to Floer theories.

This talk is the first part of a series on constructing stable homotopy types associated with odd Khovanov homology. We will describe how odd Khovanov homology can be realized as a 2-functor from the cube category to the signed Burnside category, and how this 2-functor can be used to define a stable homotopy type corresponding to odd Khovanov homology.

This is the second talk in the series on constructing stable homotopy types associated with odd Khovanov homology. We will introduce the notion of 1-flow categories and explain how they can be constructed from 2-functors from the cube category to the signed Burnside category. Using these 1-flow categories, we will define two Steenrod square–like operations on odd Khovanov homology groups.

This is the third talk in the series on constructing stable homotopy types associated with odd Khovanov homology. In this talk, we will show how the Steenrod square–like operations defined in the second talk can be realized as genuine Steenrod squares arising from the stable homotopy type constructed in the first talk.

In this talk, I will explain how to construct odd Khovanov homology via a certain "extended-TQFT-like" construction, using defects and super structures. This gives a novel viewpoint on odd Khovanov homology, and an extension to tangles.
