Spectral measures in tensor categories

Certain numerical invariants of objects of tensor categories have the property that their values along tensor powers correspond to moments of a positive measure. We will present examples of this phenomenon, in particular in cases related to Deligne--Knop categories, and explain some applications and relations with certain equidistribution problems in combinatorics and number theory.
