Hybrid talk. For zoom details contact Christian Kaiser (kaiser@mpim...).
The random matrices are studied in many different mathematical areas, including statistics, high energy physics, statistical physics, number theory, (quantum) information theory, integrable system, string theory and so forth. In the talk, I will first introduce two types of random matrices and some classical results, such as the semicircle law and the Tracy-Widom law. Then I will present our recent results about the extreme gap problems for some classical random matrices. I will also present several conjectures.
