Positive energy representations of gauge groups

We discuss recent progress - obtained together with K.-H. Neeb - on the
problem of classifying projective unitary representations of gauge
groups that satisfy a positive energy condition. In order to deal with
projective representations, we use the universal central extension of
the gauge Lie algebra that we found in joint work with Chr. Wockel.
