For an elliptic curve E defined over a number field K, we consider the set $S_{E/K}$ of primes of K for which the point group of the reduction of E modulo the prime is cyclic.
We explain why this set should have a density, what the problem is in proving that this is actually the case, and how one may actually compute it. The answer depends on whether E has CM or not.
This is joint work with Francesco Campagna.
