The Barnes-Hurwitz zeta cocycle on PGL_2(Q)

In this talk, we will introduce a group cocycle Z on PGL_2(Q) whose construction relies upon zeta functions of Barnes and Hurwitz. One of the advantages of this cocycle is that it allows us to endow all the Taylor coefficients of Z at s=0 with the same (cohomological) property. If time permits, we will also discuss some applications to the study of ray class zeta functions over real quadratic fields.
