A classical foliation is a partition of a manifold into initial submanifolds of the same codimension. Singular foliations arise when we are forced to consider instances where the codimension changes from point to point (e.g. the orbits of a group action). The holonomy of a foliation measures the extent to which the foliation is twisted along curves tangent to the partition. In this talk I will discuss how to generalize the notion of holonomy from classical to singular foliations. This talk is based on a joint paper with Alfonso Garmendia.
The talk is hybrid. For the time being, in person participation is only allowed for members of MPIM with a vaccination/recovery certificate.
