MPIM Lecture Hall We will review Bökstedt periodicity by observing that the Eilenberg-Mac Lane $F_2$ is an $E_3$-MU-Thom spectrum and studying the even filtration. Along the way we will introduce the group schemes of cocycles $C_k(\hat{G}_a, G_m)$ studied by Ando-Hopkins-Strickland in Elliptic spectra, the Witten genus and the theorem of the cube.
