I will discuss recent computations, joint with Grigori Avramidi and Kevin Schreve, of homology growth of residual sequences of normal subgroups of right-angled Artin groups, and how these fit into a more general picture of group actions with a strict fundamental domain. I will also also discuss some consequences.
