Generalized Zoll Surfaces

We discuss the construction of higher dimensional equivalents of Zoll surfaces of revolution. That is the existence of metrics on the sphere whose geodesics are closed, all of the same length and without self-intersections. The presented approach uses the additional assumption of a large isometry group to obtain an invariant characterization of the constructed examples.
